Registration for the Global Leadership Program (Module 1: Global Security) is now closed. Please contact us if you have any queries about this or the other modules of the program.

Objectives of the Program

  • To improve the knowledge of mid-level professionals sitting at the crucial intersection of politics, defense and economics about global developments and their impact on state and society.
  • To discuss and analyze current, previous as well as anticipated critical political issues concerning global developments.
  • To create a unique learning environment by inviting senior scholars, educators and political and economic figures from a number of different fields.
  • To make experts exchange their ideas and engage in the discussion of the topics initiated by the program.

Beneficiaries

The Global Leadership Program is aimed at mid-level senior professionals with a critical role at the policy level, be it within the public or the private sector. These individuals are bound to rise within their organizations to leading positions and thus need to have a view ahead for the coming challenges and developments. Through their interaction with some of the leading thinkers in the policy field, they will gain unprecedented insight and applicable knowledge.

Program

The Global Leadership Program consists of a three week program focusing on the main and key political, security and economics topics that concerned political and economic figures need to be aware of. The program is divided so that each week could focus in-depth on one of the three main areas mentioned, i.e.

Module 1: Global Security
July 3-7, 2006

Module 2: Global Economics
Nov 27- Dec 1, 2006

Module 3: Global Politics
June 27-30, 2007

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to choose among the different modules being offered or to attend the entire program over the course of the year. Thus, someone who primary interest is the economic field could simply attend that specific session while someone from the diplomatic corps with an interest across the board would be able to participate in all three specified weeks. In this way, the program provides flexibility.

The program itself combines a lecture part alongside extensive discussion period. The idea here is to stimulate continuous interaction between the participants and the speakers and to set aside enough time for participants to gain a thorough understanding of the topic at hand.
