GRC Brussels Hosts Roundtable with Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation to Discuss EU–GCC Relations

On December 3, 2025, the Gulf Research Center Foundation Brussels (GRCF-B) hosted a roundtable session with a parliamentary delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting brought together EU stakeholders to discuss Bahrain’s international role, regional security, coexistence, maritime security, and the broader EU–GCC relationship.

On December 3, 2025, the Gulf Research Center Foundation Brussels (GRCF-B) convened a roundtable session featuring a parliamentary delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside representatives from various EU institutions and stakeholders.

The discussion centered on the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the international stage, with particular emphasis on:

- Coexistence and interfaith harmony

- Regional and maritime security

- EU–GCC relations and strategic cooperation

- Participants examined the current dynamics shaping cooperation between the EU and the GCC, highlighting the initiatives needed to sustain and strengthen the momentum generated by ongoing joint efforts. The conversation also underscored key priorities and opportunities to advance the partnership.

- The roundtable reaffirmed the GRCF-Bs’ commitment to providing inclusive platforms for exchange, enabling in-depth analysis of all aspects of EU–GCC relations and contributing to more informed policy dialogue between the two regions.

4 December 2025, from 15:30 to 17:00 EAT, at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi On “Dialogue Session with the UNEP Chief Scientist and Chief Digital Officer: Imminent Science and Evidence Horizons – Applied to Four Selected UNEA-7 Themes.”

This session will examine emerging scientific developments that can support evidence-based policy across four key UNEA-7 themes: Artificial Intelligence and the Environment; Chemicals, Waste and Pollution; Deep Sea Mining; and Wildfire Management. Discussions will focus on the science–policy interface, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and potential synergies to strengthen global environmental governance.
