Job Title: Junior Economic Researcher
Job Description:
Support the Senior Economic Researcher in carrying out research and analysis of a broad range of economic issues related to the countries of the Gulf region, including their economic relations with the rest of the world. Working together with the Senior Economic Researcher to: conduct surveys and collect economic data; analyze economic data using mathematical models and statistical techniques; prepare economic reports, tables, and charts that present research results; interpret and forecast economic trends; design policies and make recommendations for solving economic problems; and write articles relating to economics for publication by the Gulf Research Center.
Required Expertise and Skills: Knowledge of Middle Eastern, Gulf and international economics; ability to analyze economic data using a variety of software programs, including spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and database management programs; good oral and written communication skills, creative and out-of-the-box thinking, ability to handle multi-task environment; ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings; high-level of commitment to excellence.
Required Credentials: Bachelor’s degree with focus on economics or related specialization; minimum 3 years working experience in economics internationally and/or in the Gulf region; economic research experience; conference participation; and publications record.
