An Economist job is available at the Gulf Research Center (GRC). The chosen applicant will be in charge of developing financial and economic models and predictions. The Economist's major responsibilities will include assessing vast quantities of data, accurately studying, and interpreting market trends, and developing and implementing economic policies.

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

 

  •           Considerable knowledge of economic studies and analysis procedures, practices and terminology as related to the work assigned.
  •           Considerable knowledge of economic and mathematical formulas used to derive statistical data and forecasts.
  •           Considerable knowledge of government, department and civic policies and regulations affecting the work assigned.
  •           Knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
  •           Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions of an advanced nature.
  •           Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively, orally and in writing.
  •           Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships as necessitated by work assignments. Considerable skill in preparing technical reports and in making recommendations.

 

Economist Requirements:

  •           Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in economics or finance
  •           A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field of economic research/analyst
  •           Excellent in Microsoft office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  •           Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  •           Good organizational skills.
  •           Outstanding written and verbal communication.
  •           Excellent interpersonal skills.
  •           Attention to detail.

Job Title: Marketing Officer

Job Description:

The Gulf Research Center (GRC) is looking to hire a Marketing Officer to support the sales of its Magazine (Araa), books, E-books, reports and all other products and services. In addition to being responsible for sales strategy, the role includes responding to Requests for proposal relating to events, publications, and all other services provided by the GRC. The marketing officer will collaborate with clients and teams to establish project objectives, delegate tasks, direct research and ensure increased sales along with building a strong Customer Relationship Management data base.

A successful marketing officer candidate should have a good understanding of social media metrics and excellent communications skills. The candidate should be focused on raising awareness and building interest in GRC’s offerings.

Responsibilities:

•Conducting in-depth Market research

•Analyzing social media metrics and observe market patterns and behaviors

•Managing sales by developing a business plan that covers Sales, revenue, and expense control

•Preparing marketing campaigns both online and in person

•Promoting the organization, its products, and services

•Developing and sustaining long-lasting relationships with customers

•Ensure company is reaching is target audience and promoting sales

•Prepare cost-benefit analyses and analyzing competitors

Requirement:

•Bachelor’s in business administration, Marketing, Media, Advertisement, communications, or related field

•Master’s Degree or any related certificates in a related field is a strong plus

•3-5 years of work experience in the publication, media, journalism industry is a highly preferably

•Proven work as a marketing and/or sales executive

•Knowledge of modern marketing techniques

•High-level communication and marketing skills

•Proven track record of achieving sales targets

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•Effective communication and negotiations skills

Job Title: Junior Economic Researcher

Job Description:

Support the Senior Economic Researcher in carrying out research and analysis of a broad range of economic issues related to the countries of the Gulf region, including their economic relations with the rest of the world. Working together with the Senior Economic Researcher to: conduct surveys and collect economic data; analyze economic data using mathematical models and statistical techniques; prepare economic reports, tables, and charts that present research results; interpret and forecast economic trends; design policies and make recommendations for solving economic problems; and write articles relating to economics for publication by the Gulf Research Center.

Required Expertise and Skills: Knowledge of Middle Eastern, Gulf and international economics; ability to analyze economic data using a variety of software programs, including spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and database management programs; good oral and written communication skills, creative and out-of-the-box thinking, ability to handle multi-task environment; ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings; high-level of commitment to excellence.

Required CredentialsBachelor’s degree with focus on economics or related specialization; minimum 3 years working experience in economics internationally and/or in the Gulf region; economic research experience; conference participation; and publications record.

Required Expertise and Skills: Specialized knowledge of Middle Eastern, Gulf and international economics; academic and analytical economic research with policy applications; supervision of and participation in economic consultancy projects; economic event management; ability to analyze economic data using a variety of software programs, including spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and database management programs; fundraising; good oral and written communication skills, creative and out-of-the-box thinking, ability to handle multi-task environment; working and leading in multi-cultural settings; high-level of commitment to excellence.

Required CredentialsMaster’s Degree – Economics or related specialization with emphasis on the Gulf / Middle East region; minimum 7 years working experience in economics internationally and in the Gulf region; field research experience; conference participation; and established economic publications record.
