The Gulf Research Center (GRC), in partnership with the Bertelsmann Foundation, hosted a dinner in Riyadh on May 14 titled “Promoting MENA Stability and Prosperity in the Context of EU-GCC Relations.” The event served as a platform to present initial findings from a joint survey aimed at identifying avenues for enhanced EU-GCC cooperation in support of regional stability and economic development in the MENA region.

Welcoming remarks were given by Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the GRC, Hélène Le Gal , Managing Director, Middle East and North Africa at the European External Action Service , and Michael Karnitschnig , Deputy Dirctor-General MENA at the European Commission .
The dinner discussion brought together senior officials from the EU External Action Service and the European Commission, ambassadors of EU member states based in Riyadh, and representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
As part of the initiative, the GRC and the Bertelsmann Stiftung surveyed approximately 70 experts from both the #GCC, #EU and #MENA to assess key priorities and areas for deeper engagement across the EU-GCC-MENA landscape. The survey results informed the discussion, which highlighted the increasing significance of EU-GCC relations as both sides work to deepen strategic dialogue and broaden collaboration on regional and global challenges.
