Dr. Sager examined the Saudi-Pakistani defense partnership and discussed the importance of sustained cooperation between Riyadh and Islamabad within the broader framework of Gulf–South Asia relations.

During the discussion, Dr. Sager addressed the Red Sea crisis and its implications for the Gulf region, as well as the security and resilience of Saudi Arabia’s underwater infrastructure.
The panel “Redefining Maritime Agendas” at the #MED2025 in Naples, Italy, featured distinguished speakers including Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee; Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Founder & Chairman of the Gulf Research Center; and Özgür Ünlühisarcikli, Director of the German Marshall Fund’s Ankara Office — reflecting the high-level strategic dialogue on maritime security.
