As part of a Business Study Mission to the Gulf region, a group of 30-plus students from the School of Social Sciences division of the Singapore Management University (SMU) visited the GRC where they were briefed about the political, economic and security dimensions of the Gulf region. The delegation was led by Dr. Caroline Yeoh, Associate Professor of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business of SMU and was accompanied by two representatives from Raffles Junior College.

Dr. Jürgen Brücker, Associate Dean for International relations and CEMS Academic Director of the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland to talk about cooperation between the University of St. Gallen and the GRC in terms of academic programs and Gulf student participation.

Ms. Wendy Luhabe, Chairman of the International Marketing Council and of the Industrial Development Corporation in South Africa and Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, visited the GRC. As the GRC has just launched the GCC-Africa research program, opportunities for long-term cooperation were discussed particularly in regards to the Gulf-Africa Strategy Forum organized by the GRC in Cape Town on 24-25 February 2009.
