Our chairman Mr. Abdulaziz Sager had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organisation fo the Islamic Conference Prof. Dr. Dr. H.C.Mult Ekmedleddin Ihsanogli in Jeddah on the 10th September 2008.
The new Ambassador of South Africa to the United Arab Emirates, his Excellency Mr. Yacoob Abba Omar and the Consul General of South Africa in Dubai, Ms. Agnes Nyamande-Pitso, visited the Gulf Research Center (GRC). They were briefed on the activities of the GRC as well as the main current issues in the region. Cooperation towards the organization of the first Gulf-Africa Strategy Forum was also discussed.
Courtesy visit by Vice Adm. Kevin J. Cosgriff , Commander, US Naval Forces Central Command & Commander of US Fifth fleet, and his team of advisers to GRC.
Mr. Oliver Klaus, Assistant Managing Editor for Middle East at DowJones Newswires visited the GRC to discuss regional political and economic developments.
Prof. Christopher P. Manfredi. Dean of the Faculty of Arts at McGill University in Canada visited the GRC to discuss further collaboration in line of the MoU between McGill University and the GRC.
A group of graduate-level students mostly from the American University in Washington D.C. and currently participating in a seminar at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), visited the GRC. They were briefed on GRC’s activities as well as the political and security developments in the Gulf. The students were led by Prof. Isa Blumi, Assistant Professor of History at Georgia State University and a visiting Professor of International Studies at AUSh.
